Under the Blanket (Prologue)

To discover yourself is to find the courage to emerge from under the blanket which, as everyone knows, is the greatest weapon against the monsters and demons that torment us.

The world beneath the covers is warm; if we spend our lives there, we remain children, always hiding from an uncomfortable—at times painful—reality that demands growth.

It’s hard to face ourselves and step into the real world, because the demons that frighten us most aren’t the ones under the bed, but the ones that live inside us. Realizing we are not entirely good shows that, in truth, the world isn’t divided by a clear line between good and evil.

There is no simple duality—there is a pursuit of balance and growth. And we only reach that when we discover ourselves and get out of bed.
